Our Old 1988 Class C Goes to a New Home and Updated Resource Materials

Saturday, June 25, 2016.  What a great day this is.  This morning David showed the manager of the storage lot where our old 1988 Class C RV is parked and she absolutely loved it!  The RV changed ownership for a whopping $1.00.

She really liked the interior remodelling David did inside and it's not even complete.  David was ecstatic as Cindy loved the RV and the energy was perfect between them. They felt like old friends meeting after many long years of not seeing each other and this was maybe the second time David spoke with Cindy in person.

Thank You Cindy for falling in love with the RV.  May she be all and even more than you expect of her.  Happy travelling and may the road be good to you in your travels.

Sunday, June 12, 2016.  We're still trying to find a BC Provincial Parks Map for the metro Vancouver region but are having no luck finding one.  David dropped by the Tourist Info Centre down on Columbia Street as it's now housed in the Anvil Centre just a half block away from home but no map was found.  However, he picked up new copies of the Go Camping BC 2016 Provincial Parks Visitor's Guide and the Super Camping Select Lodging Guide.  He also grabbed a Discover Quesnel Official Travel Guide 2016 and the Alaska Highway Historical Journey 2016 Issue.  Oh, he also snagged another Vancouver Island Provincial Park Map and Visitor's Guide.

We've been busy reading "The Ranger's Guide to Yellowstone" and let me say it's an entertaining and light read and quite the enticement to make one want to go and visit what really must be a truly amazing park that is best experienced in person than through a book or a television show.

Another Generator Option and a New Book to Add to Our Collection

Saturday, June 11, 2016.  David discovered another generator option while browsing the automotive aisles of one of our local Wal-Mart stores.  It's a Power It! Inverter Generator, 2000W, retailing for $588 in-store but $477 online.  However it is out of stock online.  But of course, we're nowhere near ready to pick up a generator as we still have Serenity's engine trouble to contend with.

And as we browsed the RV Travel Newsletter we found ourselves another camping book to add our collection, "Guide to Free Campgrounds: Includes Campgrounds $12 and Under in the United States".  It's added to our Amazon "Wishlist".

David has decided that if he is to remain working for someone else he'd much rather work in the RV industry or something related such as at a campground or RV park.  However, with having said that we know without a doubt where his passions lie and that is with all things spiritual--Spirit, Tarot, Chakras, (the) Mystical, and Magic...

And going back to Serenity and her engine issue, we're estimating an expenditure in the $2200.00 range to get her back into optimal running condition, more money needing to be put aside and saved.  Ouch!

But we're doing alright.  It's an issue that popped up and needs to be dealt with so nothing to worry about or fret over.  Especially, when camping is just around the corner as our life on the road slowly materialises thanks to all of you and David's steps, albeit baby steps toward a self-reliant, self-sufficient career.

Books, Maps, Magazines and Vehicle Troubles

Sunday, June 4, 2016.  Thank you all for helping us earn a bit of income with our blog.  We're averaging about 0.05 to 0.10 cents per day and every penny is appreciated.  We look forward to meeting all of you as we slowly get into living life on the road!

Passing the time in between travels to read books and study provincial park maps, fair guides and community events to see where the wind might take us.  A few of the books we're reading are:

The Ranger's Guide to Yellowstone
The Ranger's Guide to Yosemite
The New Roadside America
Hidden Canada: An Intimate Travelogue
The Travel Writer's Handbook
The New Oxford Book of Canadian Short Stories In English

 We're missing one map from the BC Park's series of provincial park maps and that is of Vancouver Coast and Mountains.  It's never available at the Tourist Info Centre in downtown Vancouver so we'll have to look for it elsewhere.  We've decided that we'd like to focus our attention on exploring BC and trying to visit as many BC communities as we can, if not all of them.  Quite the challenge and made even greater now that Serenity's "Check Engine" light came on and when we brake she tends to pull to the left although intermittently to the right.  Oh, the "joys" of owning vehicles!
